Last week my friend and I visited the Ron Mueck Exhibit at the Houston Fine Arts Museum. When my friend said she wanted to go I was tempted to find myself too busy to go because I figured I would be completely bored like I was back when we would visit on school field trips.
But, I have to admit it was really intriguing. While very, very creepy the exhibit makes you look into the thought process of another. I know myself I tend to wonder what is going on inside someones mind, and this exhibit gives you somewhat of a inside guide into Mueck's mind.
The man's head is large but not as big as the couple sitting on the beach or the baby. All of the pieces are very realistic, from the sag in the foot of the women from couple sitting on the beach to the beard specs on the man's head the likeness of the pieces is so intricate it is creepy.
I highly recommend visiting the exhibit while it is still here. It is something that you need to see in person because it doesn't do it any justice looking at photographs.
